Full-time English Teacher to Adults, Children & Teens
The full-time position entails 27 teaching hours weekly. The position starts on August 10th, so the applicant should plan to be in Monterrey around that time, if possible earlier.
Types of courses the teacher can expect to be engaged in:
- General English courses at our premises or online.
- General or Business English courses at our premises, online or in-company.
- General English courses for children and teenagers.
- Exam preparation courses. These include, but are not limited to, Cambridge Main Suite, IELTS, and TOEFL.
- Private courses of varied nature.
- Teaching includes: Maintaining class records online daily (this is a must), setting and marking homework; reporting to International House at the end of every month (or at a shorter frequency if required) details of the course such as attendance, grades, cancellations, scheduling make-up lessons; uploading attendance daily on our portal.
Other duties included in the monthly salary are:
- Doing placement tests; invigilating exams, applying mock exams; marking mock exams; substituting for other teachers when required; sending details of worked hours at the end of every month as required by the IH Monterrey Director of Studies or School Director; attending workshops, seminars when required; taking training when required and other academic duties as assigned. However, the teacher must attend in-house Professional Development Sessions and meetings as scheduled regardless of the number of teaching hours the teacher is doing at any given time.
- If English is not the applicant’s first language, proof of language ability is required (preferably a Cambridge certificate / IELTS report), though others can be accepted.
