The TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) is a modular Cambridge English qualification that tests knowledge of English language teaching. It is designed for teachers at all stages of their career — from those entering the profession to experienced teachers who want to refresh and formalise their knowledge. Each module is assessed and certificated separately, allowing candidates to take one module at a time.
Who Is TKT Suitable For?
TKT is suitable for teachers of English in primary, secondary or adult contexts. It may be taken by pre-service teachers, teachers who wish to refresh and extend their teaching knowledge, and teachers moving into English after teaching another subject. There are no formal English language requirements and no prior teaching experience is necessary.
