Module 3 focuses on needs analysis, syllabus design, course planning and assessment. Candidates carry out an independent investigation leading to the design of a course programme in a chosen specialism.

Module 3 is assessed through a written assignment.
Alternative: Module 3 ELT Management Specialism
This variant focuses on situation analysis, planning and implementing change. Candidates carry out an independent situation analysis leading to a change proposal in one of the following specialisms:
- Academic management
- Human resource management
- Customer service
To complete this module, candidates need access to management data from a relevant language teaching context. It can be taken as a standalone module or as an additional qualification even after completing the full DELTA.
