DELTA (Diploma in teaching English to speakers of other languages) is a detailed and comprehensive course that covers advanced theory and practice to help you develop in your teaching career.
DELTA is a qualification from Cambridge English Assessment, which is part of the University of Cambridge.

You need at least one year’s experience to make the most of it, although many people take it after a number of year’s experience in the classroom. If you are planning to progress into academic management a DELTA is a very good idea. In some schools it will be a prerequisite.
There are three modules, which you can take in any order.
DELTA Module 2
DELTA Module 2 is “Developing Professional Practice”. It is assessed with a portfolio of coursework and assessed lesson observations. Topics covered are:
- The learner and learning context
- Preparing to teach
- Using resources and materials in the classroom
- Managing and supporting learning
- Evaluating lesson planning
- Observing lessons
- Professional development
The other modules
Module 1 is “Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching”. This is the examined module, and is primarily theoretical.
Module 3 is independent research on either an ELT specialism or management. It is assessed by a written dissertation.

About the school
Our story began in Seville in 1983. Our first school started small, but we soon grew as did our reputation for top-quality teaching, fantastic teacher training and excellent, authentic accommodation for visiting students.
We opened our newest school in Málaga in 2015. We are located right in the heart of the city, near museums, the Cathedral and picturesque city parks.
Over the years we have taught over 1,000,000 students – either to become languages teachers and start their TEFL career, or to learn a language and start their own amazing life journeys.

The best thing about the school is the people, the friendly atmosphere, the location and the learning experience you will have.
We welcome students from all over the world. At the moment, students from about 35 countries choose to have their adventure with us. Why not start yours as well!
Málaga is the largest city on the Spanish Costa del Sol and enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate. As its name suggests, you can pretty much guarantee sun here – it’s one of the sunniest cities in Europe with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year.
As well as sun and sea it also has all the conveniences of a cosmopolitan city. If you love history, art, culture, music, food, you’ll find something to interest you here. In the old city there are some genuinely interesting historical and cultural attractions, and since it’s the birthplace of Picasso there are plenty of art galleries.
All in all, if you want to be based in a safe city with lots of things to do and many things to see, then Málaga is the place for you.
First things first : there are many ways to get into Málaga. The city has its own airport (aeropuerto Málaga-Costa del Sol), as well as a large train/bus station (Vialia / Estación de María Zambrano) and bus lines to reach the city centre.
Málaga has a metro system and an extensive bus network. The city has also a bicycle and electronic scooter system.
But when at the school, everything you need is within walking distance. The coffee shop Bella Julieta is located down stairs and offers breakfast and lunch, sandwiches, beverages and many other delicious homemade snacks for very reasonable prices. The nearest supermarket is Carrefour Express at just 3 minutes walking distance from our school.
We also offer a cultural programme every week. This programme consists of excursions, sightseeing tours, films, cookery classes and so on. The excursions are on weekends and the popular destinations are Granada, Córdoba, Nerja, Ronda, Marbella etc. You can find the exact dates and times of these different activities on our website and in our reception.
