DELTA Module 3 is an independent, extended assignment focused on the development of specialised syllabi. Candidates choose between two pathways: ELT Specialism or ELT Management Specialism.
Pathway Options
- Option 1 — Extending Practice and ELT Specialism: an independent investigation leading to the design of a course programme within a chosen specialisation
- Option 2 — English Language Teaching Management: an independent situation analysis leading to a change proposal in an area of ELT management

Assessment Criteria
The module is assessed through an extended written assignment of 4,000–4,500 words, marked across four areas:
- Grasp of topic (max 35 marks) — literature review, understanding of key issues, application of knowledge to practice
- Needs analysis and commentary (max 28 marks) — diagnostic testing principles, learner needs identification, justification of priorities
- Course proposal (max 35 marks) — syllabus and course design principles, justification of learning aims and teaching approach
- Assessment (max 28 marks) — principles of assessment, justification of procedures, implementation and organisation
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation four or more weeks before the course start date: 20% of the total fee is retained. Cancellation with less than two weeks’ notice: 50% of the total fee is retained.
