About the teacher training centre
Alibaba International Center was established in 2005 and got affiliated to International House in 2015 to prove its dedication to quality teaching, facilities and student care.
IH Amman is an established and well-known language school in Amman, with years of experience in providing language courses and teacher training programmes. International House Amman welcomes hundreds of language students from over 50 countries each year. Our students enjoy learning in the vibrant and multicultural atmosphere of IH Amman; making new friends and experiencing the excitement of the city together.
We are proud to be Jordan’s only CELTA and DELTA providers. We have been running the CELT A course since 2020 and more than 200 teachers have successfully gained their CELTA qualification. The course is run in online, offline and hybrid modes
What is DELTA Module 1?
DELTA (Diploma in teaching English to speakers of other languages) covers advanced theory and practice to help you develop in your teaching career. You need at least one year’s experience to make the most of it.
There are three modules, which you can take in any order.
DELTA Module 1 is “Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching”. This is the examined module, and is primarily theoretical. Topics are
- Theory of language acquisition and language teaching
- Different teaching approaches and methodologies
- Language systems and linguistic problems
- Language skills
- Resources, materials and reference sources for language learning
- Assessment concepts and terminology
