Job Description
The role of Activity Programme Manager is one of high responsibility directly contributing to the enjoyment, participation and safety of our Young Learners on the activity programme at the centre. The role supports and manages the training, inclusion and cohesion of all Activity staff and staff assigned to activity duties.
The role requires the Activity Programme Manager to take overall responsibility for the preparation and implementation of the activity programme including on-site activities, off site excursions and the coordinating of activity staff for airport transfers to and from the Young Learners centre. You will be part of the Centre Management Team and work closely with the Centre and Welfare Managers and Director of Studies, as well as with your own activity team. You will receive support from Head Office Young Learners Team throughout your employment. The role will also involve liaising with external clients such as Group Leaders, educational agents, parents and centre staff.
The on-site induction will last for four days and will include orientation to the site, safeguarding and role-specific training. Pre-camp, there will be an online course to complete (approx.5 hrs). You may also be invited to attend first aid training, group sessions at Head Office, and/or remote training sessions.
All elements of the induction are paid (separate to your salary)
From 1-6 weeks depending on locations
Hours of Work:
Your normal hours of work are up to 48 per week over a six-day week, to be agreed depending on availability and centre requirements. This position involves working on weekends and other unsocial hours.
Time off:
You will have one day off per week (a full 24-hour period). There may be some restrictions on which day this can be, depending on operational need.

Pastoral Care and Student Support
• Provide emotional support and guidance to students adjusting to a new environment

• Follow instructions and directives from line managers promptly and professionally
• Contribute to a positive work environment by maintaining a cooperative and respectful attitude
• Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by your line managers
• Adhere to all IHL Young Learners policies, procedures, and codes of conduct
Duties and responsibilities of Activity Programme Manager
•Ensure Activity Leaders have their rota
•Liaise with Centre Management Team
•Create coach lists for excursions
•Ensure Activity Leaders have up-to-date registers
•Attend Group Leader meetings
•Liaise with host centre staff about facilities
•Conduct appraisals with Activity team
•Oversee budget spending for Activity department
•Monitor stock and oversee ordering equipment
•Support Activity leaders and provide guidance
•Hold meetings with staff before excursion – ensure they have all tickets, etc
•Hold daily meetings with Activity leaders
•Respond to Activity department emails
•Mentor, support and provide guidance to the assistant activity manager (if applicable)
