About the school and city

IH Riga is a modern language school in Latvia. The school was founded in 1993 and located in the historical centre of Riga. We have mainly teens, YL and VYL courses with some adult and exam classes.

Professional development has always been a priority here, and the school provides a wide range of training options and support including weekly in-house workshops and input sessions, observations and mentoring.

The school premises are spacious and nicely designed. We have a large, airy and pleasant staff room, which has a large stock of methodology and resource books for all ages and levels. There is also a small kitchen for teachers. Teachers have their own classrooms which have internet and computers. Large-screen laptops are also available for use in class.

Riga is a modern city with a medieval heart and art nouveau districts so there are always plenty of things to do and see. The main cultural and entertainment attractions in Riga are all within easy walking distance. The famous Jurmala beach resort is also close to the city.

The school organises parties and team building events and we have many teachers that have been with us for 10-15 years. We strive to create a positive, inclusive and supportive work environment for our local and international teachers.
