Essential Requirements
- You must have a CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent initial teaching qualification. Having other qualifications, i.e. Teaching Business English is a plus.
- It would be ideal if the applicant were well acquainted with Cambridge Examinations and exam preparation in general, including but not limited to IELTS. If the candidate were a Cambridge Speaking Examiner it would be a plus.
- We welcome all nationalities as long as the applicant shows full command of the English language across all four skills.
Job Description
We are looking for one teacher to join our team, If you want to teach English in Mexico this is a great opportunity!
The main teaching duties of the English teacher are teaching Business English in company, teaching General English and Cambridge exam preparation courses at the school premises.
Some classes are still online but due to the variety of classes on demand we need you here, working remotely only does not suffice for the position!
All of the teachers that have ever come to work with IH Monterrey have found us to be a quite friendly school which offers lots of different types of classes at great companies with engaging individuals as students. Other duties include, but are not limited to invigilating exams, placement testing, substituting for colleagues when needed. This list is not exhaustive.
Other Benefits
Flights: There's a US$750 end of contract bonus.
Accommodation: Accommodation is not paid for. However, we will put you up at a hotel for up to four nights until you find a place to live. We will help you find a loft/apartment or other type of accommodation. If you have been unable to find accommodation before the 5 days, it will be your responsibility to pay for the extra nights. It is strongly recommended that you bring enough funds for at least three-months' rent (about US$1,000-1,200 or equivalent as International House Monterrey cannot be your guarantor).
Visa: The school will be in charge of the visa process from end to end provided the teacher has all documents required. After three months of work you will be eligible to take course on the IHWO OTTI enjoying a discount of 50% on top of the special fee IHWO offers to affiliate schools´ staff.
Holiday: The teacher will get three weeks' holiday, these being one in Easter plus one week at the end of the year and another at the beginning. Apart from this, teachers will get all official public holidays in México.
I first started my journey as a teacher with ih back in 2021 when I completed my CELTA since then I have stayed with the company for many reasons. Unlike most big companies, IH really does have a family feel to it.
