Job description:
We are looking for a proactive EFL teacher with enthusiasm for teaching young learners. The position would suit a team player that is flexible, independent, keen on professional development and sharing ideas. The teaching timetable is varied, ranging from very young and young learners to adults, from general English to exam classes, on-site as well as off-site courses.
As some teaching takes place online, all our classrooms are equipped with a laptop and a projector and as registers and reports are completed on-line, good computer skills are essential. The school is small, we usually have about 5 full time teachers, which enables the DoS to provide the teachers with plenty of individual attention and a tailor- made professional development programme.
Our teachers teach an average of 20 hours a week across a variety of contexts. Most of the teaching will be done off site in a state school context. There are also 4 hours of staff meetings, workshops and other duties per month. We work a 5 day week, with most of our teachers working on Saturdays from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm
About your team and the school
"A great enviroment to share ideas, develop your abilities and make news friends!" Luc
IH London School is located in a quiet, residential area of Palermo, about 30 minutes on foot from the city centre. It is a relatively small school with one part time DoS and five full time teachers. The school has got a staffroom, 5 classrooms, all equipped with a whiteboard and CD players as well as with a laptop and a projector, a computer room with 6 computers and a one-to-one teaching room. Working for a small school has got the advantage that you will get tailor made support from the DoS, have the opportunity to teach a variety of levels and age groups and that you will be working very closely with and learn from your fellow teachers. To feel comfortable in this working environment you need to be flexible, co-operative and ready for a challenge.
