Essential Requirements 

  • Candidates must possess a C1 level of English and be experienced in ELT or Modern Languages. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to organise and manage workloads effectively. 
  • The candidate should demonstrate confidence in taking initiative and working autonomously, along with resilience in completing complex tasks.
  • Applicants must have an undergraduate degree and a level 7 teaching qualification, such as the Cambridge Delta (previously DTEFLA), Trinity College Diploma in TESOL, or a PGCE.

Job Description 

Purpose of the Role:
The Modern Languages Academic Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that the department provides high-quality teaching and support. This position involves working closely with the Head of Modern Languages to foster academic leadership, innovation, and excellence in the delivery of educational services.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous development of the Modern Languages provision, implementing all academic requirements set by regulatory bodies, and providing essential educational and administrative support to staff. Collaboration with the wider Academic Management Team to share best practices and enhance the overall reputation of International House is also key. The role includes managing course delivery, timetabling, and providing support and guidance to both staff and learners.
