IH Milan

IH Milan was founded in 1982 by Sieglinde Wolkan and Claudio Tedesco, and they still run the school today. There are two main premises - one in the city centre (just a stone’s throw from the Duomo Cathedral) and one in San Donato Milanese.

CELTA courses are held at a purpose-built centre located a convenient 100 meters from the Brenta metro stop. Brenta is centrally located and easy to reach via a metro from Duomo.

Teacher training is key to what the school does, and since 2007 IH Milan has organised a conference for teachers from the state and private schools sector. This conference, dedicated to the teaching of languages, attracts internationally renowned speakers and really does put IH Milan on the TEFL map.

Away from these big events, IH Milan is a working language school and teacher training centre which maintains a friendly, supportive and positive atmosphere.

I recently completed the intensive (one month) CELTA course at IH Milan. The course was organized very well, the tutors were not only prepared, insightful, and helpful, but they turned a potentially stressful course into an exciting experience that the trainees looked forward to each day. The course covers a large variety of teaching topics and the school provides an abundance of materials to ensure trainees are adequately prepared for teaching practice and written assignments. The school staff are friendly and helpful, and the director even took time to teach important lessons during input sessions. Studying at IH Milan

Milan is the second largest city in Italy, a global capital of fashion and design and a commercial and financial hub of Italy. It is very well connected with three international airports: Linate, Malpensa, and Bergamo Orio al Serio. Low-cost airlines fly from major European cities.

The school is served by the metro and several buses . On-street parking is also available a short distance from the school.

When in Milan, enjoy the Italian lifestyle! Finding good food is never an issue in Italy! The busy neighbourhood offers a range of dining options for any budget, from classic Italian to Japanese to Peruvian within a five-minute walk from the school. Vegan and gluten-free options are also easily available. A large Carrefour supermarket offering ready-made options is located directly across the street from the school and a large Co-op supermarket is a seven-minute walk. As with all Italian cities, small shops and markets are everywhere.

Accommodation

A dedicated member of the school team looks after accommodation, and can arrange host families near the school or help with apartments. Those who prefer to arrange their own accommodation will be advised on the most suitable areas.
