Life in and around Sofia

Sofia is a city with a variety of events, international concerts, restaurants, bars, shopping streets, and a vibrant nightlife. Prices are very reasonable, meaning you can enjoy a great night out for around 40 Euros, including a 3-course meal, drinks, and entrance to clubs and bars. With the attractive salary and low prices, many teachers have an active social life and travel, while saving up to 400 Euros each month.

For those who love the outdoors, skiing and hiking are only 20 minutes from the centre and mountain ranges and beaches within a couple of hours. If you'd like to go further afield then Bulgaria borders Greece, Turkey, Romania and Serbia. Trips to Istanbul and Dracula's castle are highly recommended.
